Vote for the best football performance during Week 4 Marion-area play

A month of football is in the books with the completion of Week 4 games Sept. 11.

Checking around the Marion area, there were several worthy performances of recognition from the action.

To honor the best of the best, the Marion Star is offering a poll for fans to vote for their favorite nominee to be the player of Week 4.

The poll will be open through 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15. Fans are encouraged to vote as often as allowed.

Marion Star Football Player of Week 4 Poll

Pleasant’s Ryan Conway scored three touchdowns in the first half and finished with 104 yards on seven carries, adding seven tackles on defense in a win over River Valley.

River Valley’s Owen Collins ran in a touchdown and threw a touchdown pass in a loss to Pleasant.

Marion Harding’s Jaden Jordan made a game-winning 11-yard touchdown grab with 12 seconds left in a game with Highland.

Highland’s Robby Schmidt ran for 120 yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries in a loss to Marion Harding.

Northmor’s Tanner Miley ran 15 times for 100 yards and two touchdowns and passed for 131 yards on 8 of 15 completions and two more scores in a win over Cardington-Lincoln.

Mount Gilead’s Boe Sayers ran for 190 yards on 25 carries and scored four touchdowns in a win over Loudonville.

Elgin’s Drew Brown recorded 10 tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack in a loss to Woodmore.
